Our History

Three ancient herbs. Thousands of years of trust.

Oil of oregano, aged garlic, and black seed oil have been used across cultures for centuries, studied by modern science, and trusted by generations of people long before the supplement industry existed.

We chose these three because they've stood the test of time — and because we could trace exactly where they come from and why they've earned their place in traditional medicine.

"Three of the most-studied herbs in traditional medicine — the same ones our great-grandmothers used, backed by modern research." — Jonathan, Resilia CEO

Oil of Oregano & Carvacrol

Oregano has been part of traditional wellness in Mediterranean cultures for centuries, but its reputation isn't just historical. The active compounds in oil of oregano, primarily carvacrol and thymol, have been the subject of hundreds of peer-reviewed studies.

Carvacrol and thymol are two powerful compounds that help support the body's defenses against bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and oregano oil is widely used to support immune health.

For gut health specifically, the evidence is meaningful. Oregano oil has potential to help improve gut health by preventing harmful bacterial overgrowth, and it is sometimes used in gut-rebalancing protocols. In one small study, oregano oil was included as part of a treatment approach for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and after ten weeks, nearly half of the participants showed improvement.

Black Seed Oil and its History

Used for over 3,000 years. Still earning its reputation.

Black seed oil is extracted from the seeds of Nigella sativa, a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean and Western Asia. It has been used for over 3,000 years and is referenced in historical texts across Middle Eastern, African, and South Asian healing traditions as one of the most trusted plants in human history. It isn't a trend. It's one of the most continuously used botanicals ever recorded.

Modern research has begun to catch up with that tradition. Black seed oil contains thymoquinone, a compound with documented anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory effects, with clinical evidence supporting benefits across multiple areas of health.

Studies have shown that black seed oil can improve immune system efficiency by enhancing anti-inflammatory processes while decreasing pro-inflammatory activity. Research also shows that black seed oil supports natural killer cell activity, T-cell function, and cytokine balance, making it what researchers describe as a broad-spectrum immune modulator. In plain terms, it helps your immune system respond appropriately, rather than simply stimulating it in one direction.

We include it alongside oregano oil because the two ingredients address complementary aspects of immune and gut health. Together, they do more than either does alone.†
